Strange, but it is the "Starry Night" of the famous Dutchman that encourages people who are not indifferent to Post-Impressionism and drinks in glass containers to create funny reproductions. At the same time, the color scheme of the mosaic paintings changes, so that in some versions it becomes already difficult to recognize the original. How many tin fish scales are there in installations based on Van Gogh's motives? Thousands of them!
The masters of lid art do not have a palette - and they have to be content with the paints offered by local manufacturers of soft drinks. God only knows, maybe the authors of these pictures had to choose a drink not according to taste, but according to the color of the lids? Once again, we have to make sure that art requires sacrifices: great art - large, and cover art - tiny.
American students who studied Post-Impressionists tried to cope with the interesting task of translating Van Gogh's Starry Night into the language of modern cool brands. The topic of the seminar was Van Gogh. The "Starry Night", which the senior students analyzed on a couple, so fascinated them that the young people decided to create a tin copy of it. And I didn't even have to drink much: 700 people brought about 10 lids from their homes - and everything started spinning. The result is an impressive picture - 2, 5 × 3, 5 meters - of 7 thousand "pixels". The students obviously did not skimp on bright colors, clearly adding colors to the "Starry Night". Another thing - did she need them?
But not only young art critics were tormented by the question: "Isn't it possible to aim at Vincent of our Van Gogh?" "Starry Night" already out of 7, 5 thousand caps is the handiwork of Aaron Buehring, who is much closer to the palette and mood of the original.
Students of the University of Virginia (USA) Ross Thomas and Elizabeth Farrell have already collected 8 thousand caps, creating a canvas 2 × 3 meters.
And, to at least slightly dilute the refreshing series, one more "Starry Night" - this time from the words of Van Gogh himself. The Spaniard Juan Osborne, who is fond of verbal and visual arts, created a picture from the repeated quotation of the great Dutchman: "I often think that the night is more lively and richer in colors than the day."
Vincent Van Gogh and advertisements, Van Gogh's paintings at the sight of cameras, tinny "Starry Night" - what's next?
