What to do with caps for lemonade, beer, mineral water and other drinks that are sold in glass bottles? Of course, throw it away, everyone will say … Everyone, except for an American artist named Molly B. Right … For her, multi-colored bottle caps are like paints, crayons, pencils and markers to other artists. From this useless rubbish, Molly creates amazing mosaic paintings. The girl discovered her drawing abilities quite late, at the age of 30. Finding that talent was sleeping somewhere inside, she began to study hard, and soon the paintings of the self-taught artist could not be distinguished from the works, the authors of which were professional painters. However, Molly B. Wright did not connect her creative future with paints and a brush.
So, one day she caught sight of a large sheet of iron, however, in places rusty and pretty shabby by the elements. The owners was about to throw it into a landfill, but Molly B. Wright decided that she would always have time to get rid of the piece of iron, and tried to adapt it to the basis for the picture. Of course, for an unusual base and material, an appropriate one is needed, preferably of the same level. So the artist began to "paint" a copy of the famous "Shroud of Turin" with bottle caps. The first attempt was surprisingly successful, but the subsequent work is even better.
Today Molly B. Wright has hundreds of mosaic paintings laid out from bottle caps. The artist's studio always keeps full bags and boxes of this "garbage", which is worth its weight in gold for her. For one painting, from 3000 to 7000 thousand covers are required, depending on the size of the canvas and the complexity of the image itself, and the weight, taking into account the iron base, is more than 50 kg. Among the artist's paintings there are portraits and landscapes, animals and birds, flowers and sights, made both to order and for the soul. You can get acquainted with her work better on her personal website.
