Taiga village Kamarchaga, which is in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, is now known far abroad, and all thanks to its talented creative residents. And she glorified her small homeland Olga Kostina, a retired woman with golden hands and creative thinking, who turned her home into a work of art by decorating it mosaic of 30,000 covers from plastic bottles. Today, guests from all over the country come to admire her home, and photographs of the unusual house have scattered all over the Internet. And it all started with a simple one - Olga Kostina was a keen collector, and collected beautiful bright caps from bottles. When an indecent number of them gathered, the question arose of what to do with this good. Then the pensioner thought that it was a pity to throw the collection away, so why not put it into action and build a mosaic canvas to decorate your yard. So the collection of plastic covers turned into large-scale tapestries and in this form migrated to the walls and roof of a wooden village house.
To connect the lids that make up the patterns, Olga Kostina used the same techniques as in macrame, "weaving" them into one canvas, and nailed them to the walls of the house for a tighter fixation. Now the facade is adorned with national ornaments, characters of folk tales, as well as cute and kind pictures from childhood: the sun, clouds, daisies … By the way, in addition to the decorative function, this coating also brings more significant benefits, namely, it seals the walls of the house and protects them from moisture … And outwardly, the old house now looks much more colorful, elegant and more fun, having turned into a local attraction not only of Kamarchagi, where the craftswoman Olga Kostina lives, but of the entire area.
Since Olga Kostina used plastic covers to decorate the facade, and plastic is considered one of the main enemies of the environment, her art project can be considered "green" and aimed at combating environmental pollution. I believe that the idea of a Russian pensioner was enthusiastically supported by foreign artists and installation masters, who from year to year come up with their eco-projects on the same topic. However, it is not known what Olga Kostina herself thinks about this.
