American craftswoman Laura Kuperman was born in the glorious city of Cleveland. 5 years ago, she graduated from college in Maryland, thus comprehending the basics of fine art, and then went to work in New York, where she began to learn from the experience of venerable artists. Laura Cooperman won a grant that gave her the opportunity to see the world. Dreams Come True! For a whole year, the young craftswoman wandered around the planet, like the ghost of communism - across Europe. And in each new place, having looked around the city, Laura Kuperman took up paper and scissors.
Laura Kuperman set about carving out landmarks and simply unremarkable houses, each time creating another paper city. The openwork creations of the craftswoman give an idea of the architecture of this or that settlement, either revealing its specifics, then emphasizing that nothing special has ever been found in a given point of the globe.
Laura Kuperman has often observed that cities are losing their face, becoming just clones of each other. The same architectural elements, similar advertising, similarly decorated shops and cafes of famous world chains - this is the image of a modern metropolis. However, even such settlements become prototypes of beautiful paper cities.
