Some artists glorify life, while others are more interested in what happens after death. Someone is in love with speed, adores hustle and bustle, while others prefer serenity, serenity, peace - and let time stop. Alas, we are all mortal, and life is so short and fleeting - such a meaning is put Manuel Marti Moreno into his unusual sculptures, which he creates from ordinary iron nuts … The sculptor lives and works in the Spanish city of Valencia. The city is big and noisy, its life is full of bright colors and events, so it is not surprising that the people who make up the backbone of the creative intelligentsia of the metropolis are focused on the fact that the clock hand moves too quickly in a circle, and therefore their life is like a fuse-cord that burns out with each the counted second. You never know when the light will reach its end … So we all live like a powder keg, and everything can end at any moment. That is why the sculptures of Manuel Martí Moreno look unfinished, unfinished.
Thousands of iron nuts, polished or not, painted or natural, form clipped images of people, their figures, portraits and other parts of the body. Thus, the author shows that every day we have less and less time, which means, figuratively speaking, with every minute a person seems to be falling apart. And in the end, in the same figurative way, it reminds of his works of art. Outwardly, all this is imperceptible, but inside …
Of course, not all works of this author are so philosophically dark and aimed at helping people collectively realize their own mortality. You can get acquainted with the work of Manuel Martí Moreno on his website.

The man in the iron mask, dog shelters and other things that Peter I found as a contemporary
Peter I is one of the most famous Russian sovereigns in the world. Still - he occupied the royal throne for a long time, actively contacted Europe and, in general, was an ambiguous, but bright figure. But few people think that many stories known from books and films took place, although not near Peter, but with his figure as a historical background. For example, Peter's contemporary was the Man in the Iron Mask, who was hidden in a French prison
Exhibition "Free: Contemporary Art After Frida Kahlo" ("Unbound: Contemporary Art After Frida Kahlo")
Frida Kahlo is one of the first names that come to mind when it comes to women who changed the history of visual arts. The fearless surrealist has acquired an almost mythical status. Not an entrance, but a gallery of contemporary art: unusual drawings by the Moscow self-taught artist Dmitry Bochkarev
Who among us does not remember the legendary address "3rd Stroiteley Street, 25, Apartment 12"? The story of how Zhenya Lukashin confused the St. Petersburg and Moscow apartment on New Year's Eve, not seeing the difference in faceless high-rise buildings, is known throughout the post-Soviet space. But if we were talking about a Moscow house in which the artist Dmitry Bochkarev lives, then such a curiosity would clearly not have happened. Our compatriot creatively approached the process of "ennobling" his entrance and turned it into a bad one
Contemporary art from Konstantin Zolotarev. Contemporary Christian art or icon painting style
The icon painting style created for the depiction of saints and Christ is aimed at displaying a different reality. Therefore, in the icon, the portrait resemblance of a saint to a person who actually lived once is not in principle, since it reflects a transformed person who is in the upper world. But after all, the saints once lived on earth, they were like us, they ate and drank and had practically the same problems as modern man
