Young Canadian photographer Alex Kisilevich has created a series of photographs "On the Surface". A miracle enters the ordinary home space. The fact is that people who are reflected in mirrors, water, polished furniture, see themselves as young or, on the contrary, old. The heroes of the conceptual project, together with its author, reflect on where and why youth is leaving.

The heroes of the works from this series reflect on what they will become when they grow up, or, conversely, about what they were in their distant youth. It's not the most fun pastime - comparing yourself young with yourself getting older - that's why people in Alex Kisilevich's photo collages don't even smile.
Some of them see the future in the reflection - as if in fortune-telling, when curious Barbarians seek to find out from the mirror what will happen in their lifetime. Well, it's their right to watch spoilers. Others seem to be revisiting old photo albums - a multivolume collection of moments.
Another possible interpretation of these interesting works is the reflection of the photographer on the biological and psychological age. How often they don't match! After all, we all know that children can grow up too early, and their parents, on the contrary, feel cheerful and full of strength until old age, giving a head start to the young. What is hidden in the soul of people who pose for a photographer? Alex Kisilevich, the author of the On Surface art project, is trying to guess this.
