Look for new directions in art, invent something new - why, when you can do not quite well, but already somewhat forgotten old? Seth Armstrong just paints pictures about simple life, and the colors are so delicate and light, and the scenes are so unpretentious that Seth's works begin to be liked automatically, for no reason.
Indeed, what Seth Armstrong is doing is encouraging. Remember the photographer Theo Gosselin, capturing such simple, but, in fact, the brightest moments of our lives? Seth's paintings are something similar, only slightly more vintage.
It was somewhat strange to find out that Seth was only 27 years old. At this age, artists usually make their little revolutions in the world of postmodernism, like a costumed raid on the eerie Japanese hotels of Ralph Lagua and Keith Leys (We wrote about their front performance “Conquerors of the Land of Love.”) And Seth Armstrong is not looking for revolutions, but simply writes gorgeous pictures about simple life.
Seth was born and raised in Los Angeles. When it came time to learn the basics of the profession, Seth went to the Netherlands, where he studied until 2005, then became a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Fine Arts of California. His first exhibition was held in Oakland, California before graduation, in 2004, the last one more recently in San Francisco.
Seth's works have something unpretentious, a lot of humor, women, simple landscapes of small towns. As if he wants to explain with his works that everything is going on as usual, that everything is fine. Perhaps that is why his work is beginning to be liked, although his fans usually cannot name the reason for their enthusiasm, reducing everything to the phrase “just like it”.
Paintings simple life by Seth Armstrong, created by him for all this time, are posted on his website.

Life of Simple Things: Still Life Photographs of Maria Sapego
Maria calls her works blackies. Although, perhaps, the name "psychological still life" will suit them better? In the frame - the most simple things. The Brazilian author Charis Tsevis is also such a "picture designer". From various photographs, illustrations or just geometric shapes, he creates unusual mosaic portraits
