We all know that it is better to see once than hear a hundred times. Apparently, it was this rule that the famous English horsewoman was guided by Jillian Higgins (Gillian Higgins) when she decided to develop a new learning system for students horse anatomy … She invites future veterinarians not only to read information about the structure of an animal in a textbook, but also to clearly see what the skeleton and muscle mass look like. To simplify the learning process, the resourceful Englishwoman applies hypoallergenic paints to the corresponding images on "living mannequins" so that while riding, students can see how different muscle groups work.

Given that the equine body has 205 bones and 700 muscles that work like a well-coordinated mechanism, Jillian Higgins' task was not easy, but she coped with it brilliantly. The idea of finding an alternative to boring theory study originated with Gillian 6 years ago when she wondered how much effort trainers, riders and, of course, students spend on understanding how a horse is "arranged". Then it appeared project "Horses Inside Out".

Today, Gillian's methodology has many supporters: she is invited to various educational institutions to give lectures for students. Of course, the attendance at these classes is one hundred percent, because everything that happens is more like an entertaining performance. For each lesson, Gillian carefully prepares, because she needs about four hours to reproduce all the details on the horse's body: the muscles on one side and the skeleton on the other. Most often, her own horses act as mannequins: 12-year-old Freddie Fox and 6-year-old Henry. If Gillian teaches students in another city, then he asks to provide her with white or gray stallions, since the colors are better visible on them. By the way, you can find out more information about how Jillian Higgins's demonstration performances take place on the Horses Inside Out website.
