Contemporary art makes people see the beauty in the ordinary and admire the most seemingly everyday things. Or even rubbish, which has a place in the trash heap or in scrap metal. So, a young artist Michelle Stitzlein instead of throwing away unnecessary parts from broken household appliances, cars, bicycles, old broken watches, pieces of wires and coils of wire, it turns all this rubbish … into beautiful, unusual butterflies. If you look at them from afar, it seems as if they were made of paper using the quilling method, or with the help of applique. But as soon as you come closer, all the subtle charm of these bright, colorful insects instantly evaporates … Or maybe, on the contrary, is replaced by admiration for the artist who truly turned a nondescript caterpillar into a noble swallowtail?
In addition to butterflies, the artist is very fond of flowers, so it may very well be that these very works from improvised material will soon see the light of day along with the original butterflies from Michelle Stitzlein.
