The messengers of the new year in every country and every nation are different. As well as traditional treats, congratulations, decorations and other festive attributes. So, in Scandinavia, for example, together with Santa Claus, a little elf who looks like a dwarf, whose name is Nisse, comes to people. And JAJA Architects has released a collection of souvenir glass balls for the holiday " Man and nisse"that tell about the life of this very Nisse with people and among people. The authors of the project prepared this project specifically for the Christmas seminar at the Danish Architecture Center studio. And the idea was born at the moment when the youngest child of one of the authors asked his father how it would be if people could make friends with fabulous creatures from legends and beliefs.
The designers considered the theme "Man and Nisse" in great detail, and paid attention not only to winter, but also to other seasons. Where do the fabulous creatures associated with the Christmas holidays go when spring comes and then summer comes? Perhaps they reincarnate into people in order to be able to get lost in the crowd, waiting for the next winter?
All 14 glass balls with artificial snow inside are exceptionally fine workmanship. The smallest details are so carefully worked out here that souvenirs can really be confused with tiny fairy-tale worlds where a person lives side-by-side with elves. Merry Christmas from JAJA Architects!
