This is how the traditional Chinese Dragon Boat Festival takes place, one of the three most important traditional holidays in China. It is believed that the appearance of this holiday is associated with the memory of the ancient Chinese poet-patriot Qu Yuan, who committed suicide during the enemy siege of the city of Chu in the 3rd century BC, having previously written the poem "Lament for the capital of Ying", famous in China. The poet's body was searched for on boats, drums rattling to scare away the dragon spirits. Therefore, for the holiday, boats are designed so that they look exactly like these mythical animals.
