There is censorship in the press not only in totalitarian and authoritarian countries, but also in completely democratic Germany. Indirect evidence of this is the work of students at the University of Wiesbaden Hochschule RheinMain called Presswerk, devoted to pressure on the print media.

Students Moritz Gemmerich, Marie Niamh Dowling and Helen Schneider studying design at Hochschule RheinMain University in Wiesbaden, Germany, are concerned about media pressure in their country. And so they created an unusual album of illustrations called Presswerk (combining the roots of "press" or "press" and "work").

In this 212-page album, they have placed about a hundred photographs of various things, taken at random and placed in a completely random order. The only thing that all of them have in common is a crushed state. In the photos in the album, these things look like they've been crushed by the press, and quite dramatically.

This effect is the main concept of the Presswerk album, illustrating its message. Under pressure, things and concepts cease to be themselves, are distorted beyond recognition. And for greater illustration, at the very end of the Presswerk album, in the table of contents, there are photographs of all these things before the press.
