If you do not look closely at these images, but skim over them with a glance, they will seem like ordinary photographs. But the attitude towards them changes, and you want to look at them again and again, down to the smallest details, when you find out that in fact these are not photographs, but paintings!
We can say without hesitation that the strength of the talent of the young Swedish artist Linnea Strid lies in the ability to paint water in such a way that the audience often cannot understand what is really in front of them - paintings or photographs. Strid must have deeply studied all the properties of water and knows more about this element than anyone else.
Linnea Strid paints her oil paintings on canvas or plywood, her works are executed in the spirit of hyperrealism. The artist's light brush strokes convey the effect of water so realistically that it seems that if you reach out and touch all these drops, drips and splashes, your fingers will definitely become wet.
Linnea was born in 1983 in the Swedish town of Uppsala. As the artist herself says, she always felt the desire to draw and express her emotions in this way. But when the question arose about choosing a profession, the girl decided to study languages. And yet the craving for drawing turned out to be stronger: “I realized that all I really want is to be an artist. It was too painful to waste my time on something other than drawing. After this decision, Strid studied at art schools in Sweden for four years.
She finds inspiration in the work of contemporary artists, naming names such as Alyssa Monks, Jorge Santos, Cindy Wright and Antonio Lopez. At the same time, Linnea says that each of her works is done in her own manner. “It's hard to say how exactly my paintings differ from others. And yet I hope I am creating something new and interesting."
