Canadian photographer and photo artist Edward Burtynsky traveled with a camera all over the world in order to collect material for his new Exhibitions, which received a short but clear and clear name Water … We are talking about pictures of the power and the impulse that the water gives to life on planet Earth.
Photographer Edward Burtynsky is well known to modern art lovers for his love of creating large-scale panoramas dedicated to the industry: its rise and fall. But it turns out that water also falls into the circle of interests of this Canadian of Ukrainian origin, and specifically, its influence on the life of Man and on nature.
This theme, as well as his developments on it, Edward Burtynsky presented in his new exhibition, which will be held in September-October 2013 at the Nicholas Metivier Gallery in the Canadian city of Toronto.
The exhibition will show several dozen photographs, for the sake of which Edward Burtynsky traveled almost the entire globe. To take the necessary shots, the photographer went underground, ascended to a height of hundreds of meters or even kilometers, conquered large-scale man-made structures such as a giant dam on the Yellow River in China.
Burtynsky shows both an excess of water in some regions of the Earth, and its lack in others, as well as the consequences of these processes. Man and nature as a whole adapt differently to these conditions, and the photographer impartially captures all this on the camera.
