Video: "Paper" art: filigree patterns from cut pages

These amazing paper compositions from old books resemble algae or the tentacles of some marine organism. Subtle curves are surprisingly intertwined with each other, forming the most intricate patterns of cut pages.
Conceptual photographer and sculptor from South Africa Barbara wildenboar creates original compositions from the cut pages of old books. Filigree patterns make the viewer look at paper sculptures for a long time, looking for the basis of intricate weaves.
Barbara usually finds books at flea markets. If these are thematic tomes with pictures, such as atlases or biology textbooks, then the collages are much more original. At the same time, many, looking at her work, "ascribe" to Barbara an active participation in the movement for the protection of nature. However, it is not. The author herself notes that paper sculptures are rather her inner view of the environment.
Barbara Wildenboar has already held solo exhibitions of her work internationally. Also, several of her paper sculptures are in private collections in South Africa, Europe, Australia and Hong Kong.
Paper is a limitless source of creativity. Recently, a whole encyclopedia has been published called "Paper Play", which provides step-by-step instructions on how to use paper in modern design and art.
