Indeed, nature is our wisest teacher, perhaps that is why land art every year it becomes more and more popular direction in art. Today we will tell you about the work of the virtuoso Dietmar Voorworld, which creates wonderful installations from ordinary pebbles and leaves.
Land art is a vocation. Only a few artists have the ability not to disturb the harmony of nature, but at the same time add a bright accent to the symphony of natural forms. Among the recognized masters - Richard Schilling, Andy Goldsworthy, Jerry Barry and others. They all experiment with natural materials to complement and enhance the beauty of the natural landscape.
The works of Dietmar Wurworld deserve special attention, because in the photographs taken by the artist, we can see delightful art objects. Bright colors, precise geometric shapes, a variety of textures - all this is characteristic of his creations. Dietmar's favorite geometric figure is a circle - a symbol of life, renewal, endless development. In this, his works are close to the philosophical land art of Philip Jones and Martin Hill.
For the first time, Dietmar Woolworld thought about land art while vacationing in Greece. He was digging in the sand on the beach and realized that he wanted to create compositions from natural materials. He collected his first mosaics, treating this hobby rather frivolously. The artist photographed what he did, and realized: the art objects he created can look very harmonious against the backdrop of Scottish landscapes. After a while, he moved to North Scotland and today he never ceases to amaze the audience with magnificent works. Most often, the artist places his installations on the banks of the river.
Dietmar Woolworld strives to "fit" his compositions into the surrounding landscape in such a way as to give the impression that they have been here from time immemorial. The artist describes the creative process in the following way: “Harmony is as important to me as the process of working with the gifts of nature. I cannot answer the question why I create art in nature. I only know that it brings me satisfaction. Despite all the difficulties, I continue to create with unquenchable enthusiasm. I follow the call of my soul. And, whether I like it or not, nature is a true and endless source of inspiration, the highest step to which you need to grow. Here I feel free, this is my home. Working with nature and in the bosom of nature is a valuable gift. My work is a reconciliation with nature, with weather, stones, light and an incomprehensible ocean. This is reconciliation with oneself."
