Special Olympics, like regular Olympics, are held every four years. June 25 to July 4 in the Greek capital, representatives of more than 180 countries competed (and there are 193 of them, including South Sudan) to show everyone: they definitely cannot be called people with disabilities! There is no official sport where Special Olympics participants have not shown themselves. And this despite the fact that even getting to the place of the games is a problem for them - and even on the field of competition they give all their best.

Scoring system for Special Olympics - not at all the same as on the usual one. There is absolutely no element of competition between countries: such statistics are even unethical to publish. This is because it is not a victory over an opponent that is valuable here, but a victory over oneself, the growth of personal results is a good old Olympic ideal … We can only say that at the last Games Russian athletes took 196 medals, 140 of them were gold.
