Hawaiian waters on the island of Maui are home to such a rare creature as the green Hawaiian turtle. An endangered species of turtles, they are quite rare guests of the coast. Thanks to their herbal diet, green turtles are renowned for giving their fat and meat a delicate greenish tint. Apparently, because of this, they are caught by poachers. Photo by Jose Cardona

This baby, a koala bear, has a mother dead. And he was rescued by employees of The Australian Reptile Park, where the child now lives and learns. It's amazing that the baby, having gone through such a shock, feels good and willingly poses for cameras. Photograph by Gary Brown.
