"There is no death - there is Power" - this mantra is known by every true Jedi. Today anyone can join the philosophy of the knights-peacemakers from "Star Wars". For this it is worth visiting The Jedi Club of New York! Flynn Michael, the club's organizer, teaches his charges not only how to use the lightsaber, but also how to use the Force in everyday life: during tedious work, in a noisy bar or on a crowded subway.
Michael Brown (real name of the club's organizer) dreamed of "Star Wars" since childhood. When the film was released in 1977, the 12-year-old went on to watch the movie 32 times and, like millions of fans, got the idea of finding the Force, like Luke Skywalker. Michael had a difficult childhood, he was often beaten and hurt. However, these difficulties only brought up in him the ability to stand up for himself in any situation.
The Jedi lifestyle, martial tradition and code of honor have always been a role model for Michael. Seven years ago, during a parade to celebrate Halloween, Brian and his friends decided to appear as their favorite characters. It was then that the idea arose that their spiritual experience could be very useful for modern city dwellers. Michael founded the Jedi Club, a training program that combines spiritual practices with martial arts, dance, and even Tibetan Buddhism.
For the first classes in the club, each student receives an inexpensive factory-made lightsaber. Michael is sure that the common man becomes a Jedi only when he makes his own weapon, so over time, everyone has a sword made by his own hands. In addition to classes, the club regularly hosts themed parties based on Star Wars.
