As a child, many of us amused ourselves with stories about a black-black room in which a black-black man lived. An alternative to evening gatherings under the covers in adulthood for many becomes a visit to the "rooms of fear". Most often "horror stories" cause only a smile, but a trip to haunted house Nightmare's Fear Factory (Canada) remembered by the daredevils with a storm of real emotions. The owners of the attraction with a 30-year history regularly show pictures of frightened visitors, in which people are captured at the moment when they experience genuine experiences - horror and fear!
Of course, visitors always have a chance to "be saved." Once in the corridors of the Nightmare’s Fear Factory, they can shout out the conditional password at any moment: “Nightmare!” And they will be immediately released. Over the years of the existence of the attraction, more than half a million people have visited the fear room, but many could not stand the 15-minute walk. Their names have been added to the "list of cowards", or, as the organizers call it, "chicken list" (today there are about 110,000 names in it).
Those who want to tickle their nerves embark on a journey through the pitch darkness, which is from time to time cut through by red lanterns installed on the floor, on the walls and on the ceiling. Unlike other haunted houses, visitors will not see puddles of blood or other traditional trappings here. The daredevils at Nightmare's Fear Factory are trapped by actors in scary costumes who jump out of the dark, tease visitors, scream or speak in eerie voices. They can also grab or push someone in the group to get feedback. Combined with eerie music and voices coming from everywhere, it all looks truly intimidating.
Tourists, passing the route, must overcome a number of obstacles: go over a shaky bridge, crawl along a narrow tunnel, and also not get confused when the walls begin to approach them. The most impressive part of the journey is when visitors, who most often walk holding hands, suddenly see a sign reminding them that they are going to die. It is at this moment of genuine horror that specially installed cameras capture the frightened visitors. The desire to create fear in people often inspires not only the organizers of attractions, but also the artists. A striking example of this is the installation by the Chinese master Li Hui, who arranges color installations for fearful people.
