Surely, many people know and appreciate the art of artistic woodcarving, metal and even marble, and after getting acquainted with the work of the Mexican artist Betsabe Romero, you will learn that there is also tire carving, which also has its admirers and connoisseurs. Betsabe Romero, obviously, belongs to those creative personalities who consciously approach the disposal of old things, finding them creative artistic application.
Mexican artist Betsabe Romero sculpts worn, old tires from cars, trucks and buses, transforming them into beautiful carved masterpieces featuring floral and plant designs used in Mexican folk art.
Romero's bas-relief sculptures, made from car tires, often appear in many collective exhibitions in museums in Mexico and abroad. Over the past ten years, Betsabe has also hosted 30 solo exhibitions. The carved tires of the artist, who studied in Mexico and Paris, are interesting not only because they look great, but also because they can leave patterned tattoos if they are dipped in paint and rolled over a white surface.
