These fantastic constructions and urban landscapes are not illustrations for a fantasy novel or stills from a film. These are photographs taken by Canadian artist David Trautrimas, and if you look closely, you will recognize common household utensils in the futuristic buildings, from pots and pans to water taps and fans.

In everything - from individual houses to entire districts - the presence of painfully familiar objects that we encounter every day is subtly guessed, although David weaves them so organically into the structure of buildings that at first glance it is not always possible to determine what exactly is made of. or other structure.

In the process of creating his works, the artist takes old mixers, punches, waffle irons, staplers, coffee makers and other suitable household items and photographs them. Then David goes to the city, where he takes thousands of pictures of doors, windows, sidewalks, lawns … And only then he sits down at the computer and begins digital processing of photographs, as a result of which new, completely fantastic images are created from separate parts of the images.

David claims that ordinary houses and high-rise buildings have always seemed to him too boring and primitive, so he decided to demonstrate his vision of architecture to the whole world.

It is always interesting to see the secret life of familiar objects, and Trautrimas really gave the old technique a new exciting life. To date, two series of images have been created, the first of which - "Habitat Machines" - shows the viewer residential areas, and the second - "Industrial Parkland" - shows the landscapes of industrial areas. Probably, it is worth waiting a little longer, and thanks to the author's imagination, we will see the whole city in the steampunk style.
