Interestingly, Joe bakes tortillas with his own hands, from which he then selects the one that is most suitable for his future work in color, shape and texture. The artist applies drawings to the cakes using acrylic paints. In order to protect the image from moisture and insects, it is subsequently varnished.
Joe Bravo says that sometimes he doesn't even have to come up with the next picture - the shape and appearance of the tortilla themselves tell him the future plot. Since 1972, the artist has created hundreds of images on corn cakes, including all kinds of animals and birds, dragons, portraits of famous people …
