If earlier, when discussing art, we had to talk about the mixing of styles, today there is a reason to talk about the mixing of genres and varieties of art. So, we have already written about the masters who first create an installation, and then photograph it or transfer it to paper in other ways, about the artists who first photograph the object, and then bring it to "readiness" with a brush with paints … But sculptors who create their own work with a camera, I have not yet met.

Korean photographer Gwon Osang works in a special genre that is best called "photo sculpture". And we are not talking about banal photography of finished sculptures made of clay, marble, stone or wood. Gwon Osang really creates his work from photographs.

To create a three-dimensional photograph of an object, Gwon Osang needs to photograph it from all sides and from head to toe. And then glue hundreds of the resulting photographs into one whole to get this very object that served as a photo model.

Just think how much time and effort it takes to recreate an object from photographic fragments! This is not a puzzle to collect on the carpet. Although the technique of performing the work is about the same, and you can admire the author's photo sculptures on his website.
