Multiplying and enlarging images, cutting, cutting and rearranging, modeling layers and textures from them, the artist Rusty scruby creates amazing three-dimensional reconstructions ordinary 2D photographs and images. Outlandish, and sometimes abstract or even surrealistic paintings are obtained, which can be considered both sculptures and installations. The idea of three-dimensional photographs-sculptures is to create one visual series from completely different images, radically different from the source. Having selected and multiplied several photographs, the artist models the models from them so as to obtain a completely different, some kind of third image. So, from pieces of photographs of nature and macro photographs of various plants, a three-dimensional photographic reconstruction of a landscape is obtained. Similarly, the author models other three-dimensional photoconstructions.
With his three-dimensional reconstructions, the artist seems to manipulate the human consciousness, making them wonder what they see in front of them, whether it is an illusion, a mirage, or a real, real spectacle. And due to the fact that recently interest in all kinds of optical illusions is gradually growing, we can say with confidence that the work of Rusty Scruby will be at the peak of popularity and will remain there for a long time. In addition, besides the reconstruction of photographs, the author is also fond of card games. In his portfolio there is a whole section dedicated to sculptures made from the most common playing cards.
Sculptures, photographs, illusions and installations are the main focus of Rusty Scruby's creative work. You can see these and other works of the talented artist on his personal website.
