Young artist Fernando de la Rocque at home, in Brazil, is often one of the main topics for discussion in creative circles of representatives of contemporary art. An outrageous nonconformist, he knows how to draw attention to his person, in particular, with that unusual creativity, to which he devotes all of himself. So, Fernando de la Roca is the first and so far the only artist whose paintings have been painted … marijuana smoke and collected in a series with a defiant name Blow job … Smoking in the name of art, in protest against the restriction of the rights and freedoms of every person, is what his scandalous art project Blow Job is for the artist. The author believes that a strict ban on cannabis deprives a person of certain freedoms, in particular, freedom of thought and creativity. And his paintings, painted with "grass smoke", act as a kind of tool, a lever for fighting the system.
The technique of painting with the smoke of marijuana is the author's know-how of Fernando de la Roca. So, first, he creates a template for the future drawing and cuts it out on a thin sheet of transparent plastic. Then he applies the plastic to the paper, inhales, and blows the smoke directly onto the canvas. Through the slits in the template, the paper is colored with smoke, the rest remains white, untouched in color, and a portrait of a religious or political figure is born, as originally conceived by the Blow Job art project. How much marijuana he has to smoke a day, the author does not tell, just as he does not report how he feels after completing another picture made in this innovative technique. However, among connoisseurs of the work of the shocking author, there is an opinion that Fernando de la Roca, although inhaled with smoke, does not inhale it, does not let it into his lungs.
