"Just add water!" - probably, most of us remember this phrase thanks to the popular in the 90s instant drink advertisement. But for fans of Benjamin Anderson's work, this slogan evokes completely different associations: this is the name of a series of paintings by the artist, in which there is more than enough water.

Just Add Water is a series of 14 paintings in which Anderson mixes the themes of beauty, war and materialism, and uses water as a visual tool. Here is what his website says about this: “By distorting the beautiful couple, the artist uses his concept of realism and abstraction to reduce the importance of the material world to simple forms. Finding the beautiful in the ugly and the ugly in the beautiful, Just Add Water takes provocative pictures to the next level. Thanks to Anderson's fantasy, anything can be underwater - an airplane, people, furniture, even a spacesuit.

“Objects and people immersed in a pool covered with waves - from a group of girls to firearms - should be taken as irony in Benjamin Anderson's intricate paintings,” says art critic Joseph Woodard.
