The more creative a person is, the more unusual his art will be, because talented people do not occupy themselves with imagination and creative thinking. A creative person can create a masterpiece, to put it simply, out of junk. American Joe Pogan, a native of Oregon, is engaged in making sculptures from metal parts.
With twenty years of experience as a professional welder, Joe uses a unique combination of rich experience and artistic talent to create an amazing variety of animal and bird sculpture.
Joe Pogan's sculptures consist of scrap metal, small old iron parts, broken watches, bolts, nuts, and toothed drums. The weirder and more unusual the metal part, the better for the work itself, as the end result is a delightful fusion of metal that catches the eye and can be admired and explored for hours.
“I start by welding the frame to create the overall shape. Then I weld or anchor the metal objects to form the outer shell of the sculpture. I use a 'blended' technique that leaves no space between parts and different objects, the sculpture looks solid. It allows me to hide the details one by one, which increases the desire of the beholder to search and discover, says the sculptor-welder.
