In the recently opened Jewish Museum in Moscow, exhibitions will start working, the main motive of which will be tolerance. The halls of the museum will house an exposition consisting of paintings by Andy Warhol and Marc Chagall.
The exhibition will be organized with the assistance of the Jewish Museum in Vienna, said the director of the Moscow museum Leonid Agron in an interview with RIA Novosti. He stressed that the Moscow museum has cooperation agreements with almost all Jewish museums in the world.
In addition to paintings by Warhol and Chagall, the exposition will feature Jewish household utensils, objects of contemporary art and books. The management of the Moscow Jewish Museum plans to exhibit the collection of Eduard Pomerants, which is the largest collection of contemporary art in Europe.
Multimedia projects will also be shown at museum sites. We are talking, in particular, about the Van Gogh Alive exhibition, which includes the works of the master, which have been multiplied with the help of modern technologies. It will be possible to see in the museum the works of Arab artists, as well as works of art that touch on the problem of feminism.
According to Leonid Agron, the duration of the exhibition cycles will be 2 years. Within each, art lovers will be presented with 10 - 15 exhibitions.
As for the Center for Tolerance, they are going to conduct training in ethnic and interfaith areas, as well as develop special programs for students and schoolchildren.
The Tolerance Center and the Jewish Museum opened in November 2012. The purpose of both sites is to visualize the culture and life of the Jews.
