On August 7, representatives of news outlets spoke with Russian Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky. He told them about the offer he had made to Quentin Tarantino, the producer of Once Upon a Time in … Hollywood, and the founder of Heyday Films. The proposal is for Tarantino to shoot his future films on the territory of the Russian Federation.

Already on August 8, Quentin Tarantino's film "Once Upon a Time in … Hollywood" is released in Russian film distribution. Especially to participate in the premiere, Tarantino arrived in Moscow together with producers David Hayman and Shannon McIntosh. All issues related to filming are handled by David Hayman. It was with him that Medinsky decided to discuss filming new films within Russia.

The Minister of Culture said that the producer was interested in this proposal. He drew attention to the fact that Hayman was responsible for producing "Gravity" and an animated film about the adventures of the famous Paddington Bear. It is worth noting that it is David Hayman who is the owner of the rights to film the books by J. K. Rowling, which tells about the magician Harry Potter. He has produced all of the magical films in this series.

During a conversation with this producer, Medinsky raised the issue of reimbursing part of the cost of funds for filming films. This refund is called rebate and is still valid in some regions of the country. The head of the Russian Ministry of Culture expects that soon such rebates will work in all regions of Russia, which will attract many Western filmmakers to the country.

A new film by Quentin Tarantino called "Once Upon a Time in … Hollywood" took part in the Cannes Film Festival. It will be shown in the Russian box office for the first time on August 8. This film tells about the events in Los Angeles in 1969. The protagonists of this western are Rick Dalton and Cliff Booth, an understudy of the first hero. The actions of this whole story are connected with the events in the Charles Manson gang, as well as the murder of Sharon Tate, actress and director's wife Roman Polanski. In this film story, the actor Luke Perry played for the last time.
