Social networks have become a part of our life, they allow you to communicate with people from different countries and find communities of interest. Less than a year ago, a completely new social network appeared - Clubhouse, which in just a year has become a kind of trend, although it still operates on the principle of a closed club. And recently, Elon Musk invited Vladimir Putin to chat at the Clubhouse.

Clubhouse was founded by Paul Davison and Rogan Seth, former Stanford alumni and Google developers. The project was launched in April 2020, there were more and more users, serious investments were pouring into the social network, and the development was measuredly stable. But the announcement on Twitter of Elon Musk's speech on January 31, 2021 had the effect of an exploding bomb.

Although the Tesla founder's speech could be heard on YouTube, which, in principle, is a violation of the rules of the social network, users began to actively register in the Clubhouse. But you can get there only by invitation (invite), which are already being sold and bought on well-known trading platforms.

Today Clubhouse is a platform where communication takes place exclusively by voice. The Clubhouse consists of open and closed rooms and clubs of interest. A registered person can create their own public rooms and invite friends and colleagues there to discuss some problems or simple communication on burning topics. Everyone in the room can take the floor, but if there are many who wish, the moderator determines the order of the speech.

Everything that happens in the Clubhouse usually does not go beyond it, and the case with Elon Musk's performance is an exception to the rule. There is an opportunity to get to the Clubhouse on a first come, first served basis, that is, without an invite, but the wait can be significantly delayed. The developers promise to create an application for Android in the near future, but so far Сlubhouse is available only on iOS.

In each room of the social network, there can be up to 5 thousand people at the same time, while any user has a chance to speak out on any topic, one has only to raise his hand and declare his desire. True, in especially active discussions, the turn of all comers may not reach.

The Russian-speaking audience of Clubhouse is still relatively small, but there are quite a lot of people who want to get access. In general, the new social network looks like a familiar FM radio with one or more presenters in the studio. Speakers can speak without restrictions, and the presenter (moderator) decides on the provision of airtime to other users.

The Russian-speaking audience of Clubhouse has grown, according to various estimates, almost 18 times in February alone.

Today, you can only listen and speak in the application, there are no monetization tools familiar from other social networks either. It is possible that they will soon appear in the form of ads or paid subscriptions to the most popular groups.

Another surge of interest in Clubhouse occurred on February 14, 2021, when Elon Musk was able to surprise his Twitter followers by inviting Vladimir Putin himself to socialize. He first noted the official account of the Kremlin, with a proposal to join the conversation, and added a message in Russian: "It would be a great honor to talk with you." what exactly is proposed, and only then react. Nevertheless, he made it clear that the head of state was interested in the proposal.

Social networks have long been a part of the life of a modern person. For example, TikTok is the main virtual “habitat” of the younger generation. Despite the criticism and condescension, today this service is becoming a platform for discussing the social, political and cultural situation, a source of inspiration for creative people and the cradle of trends that penetrate "adult" fashion, design and art.
