Video: "Serious" funny drawings by Mark Jones
2024 Author: Richard Flannagan | [email protected]. Last modified: 2023-12-15 23:55
This is a hilarious drawing by Mark Jones "The Boxes We Stuff People In". On the boxes it says, starting from the top row from left to right, "stupid", "bore", "good for parties", "loser", "incomprehensible", "go away, please."
Mark Jones is an artist who creates whimsical serious and at the same time funny drawings, witty and funny. His characters, be it a man with branches growing out of his head and requiring pruning, or a pipe trying to quit smoking, are always very simple, not too detailed and speak better than any words in just a couple of movements of a pen on paper.
"I want to say as much as possible with minimal means. My work is always based on humor. Often, when you find something funny in something, you find the truth. I like to create absurd situations, combine incongruous things or imagine what I said would be inanimate objects if they could speak, "says Mark.

Funny caricature and a serious craftsman: woodcarving by Andrey Alarichev
Unlike caricaturists, it is difficult for a sculptor to sculpt plots for momentary events - each piece requires many weeks of hard work. Therefore, the sculptor-cartoonist Andrei Alarichev has chosen as his target those things that will be relevant for years, if not millennia. Funny cartoons about our life and our shortcomings grotesquely carved from wood will surprise and make you think about many "usual" problems
Zombie Trainer: Funny Drawings by Glenn Jones
Everyone probably loves T-shirts with funny pictures. Even if you don't wear them yourself, you will certainly notice an unusual print on passers-by or fellow travelers on public transport. And you will certainly nudge the satellite with your elbow, seeing something like humorous drawings by Glenn Jones. The author of funny illustrations knows how Spider-Man dries clothes and from what weapon the snowman was "shot"
Frivolous Drawings by the Serious Artist David Shrigley
Demotivators, Someecards, and just pictures with funny, "thoughtful" or naive captions have become extremely popular over the past couple of years, especially on social networks. Although this format is the younger brother of cartoons, comics and illustrations, well-deserved and time-tested genres, few people take it seriously. Or maybe it would be worth it, given that the new list of nominees for one of the most prestigious awards in the world in the field of contemporary art - the Turner Prize - don't care
Funny about serious: witty paper collages of Estonian Eiko Ojala
Estonian artist and designer Eiko Ojala manages to playfully speak out on the most serious issues with the help of colored paper collages. Some of Oyal's works are distinguished by elegance and humor, others are outright eroticism, and still others touch on the most important components of modern society - pop culture, religion, sports
