The opening of the Olympic Games in London sparked a wave of interest in sports competitions. The spirit of competition has embraced the most diverse segments of the population. Impressed by the Olympics, informal German youth decided to organize their own competition 2012 Hipster Olympicswhose purpose is identify the sportiest hipster!
The competition "started" a few days before the Olympic Games and gathered more than 6,000 people in East Berlin. The task of the judging committee was not easy - at the qualifying stage it was necessary to leave only 60 participants who would compete for the title of the best hipster. The Hipster Olympics program consisted of nine independent competitions in which hipster Olympians could demonstrate their agility and great physical shape. Traditional skinny jeans and shoulder bags have become not only elements of the hipster look, but also the direct attributes of the competition.
All participants were divided into 12 groups of 5 people each, who took part in comic competitions. Daredevils threw traditional Bob Dylan-style glasses at length, jumped at speed in bags, and ran a marathon in skinny jeans, pulled a rope and spun vinyl records. Perhaps one of the most extraordinary contests was to cover the distance at speed, walking on beer crates, which had to be contrived to rearrange for each subsequent step without touching the ground.
The winners of this challenging competition were a team called Jam FM, a group of local radio station DJs. Apparently, they were able to be the most fun, groovy and carefree among all dudes. As the main prize, they received a gilded bottle of Club-Mate, a coffee fizzy drink that is very popular with hipsters and computer hackers.
