Sotheby’s auction was held on October 5, during which many sales were carried out. The last lot on sale was a painting by the famous street artist Banksy, whose real name no one knows. They decided to sell a painting called "Girl with a Ball". The buyer raised the price to £ 1.04 million for this lot, which is approximately $ 1.4 million.

The most interesting thing is that after the last blow of the auction hammer, the painting self-destructed. This happened due to the activation of the shredder, which was built into the picture frame. The Girl with the Ball was created by Banksy back in 2006 and is one of his most famous pieces. It was created using canvas, acrylic paints and spray paints. At the auction, it was exhibited in the author's frame.

Everything that happened at the auction confirms the words of a popular and at the same time unknown artist, who calls all his works in the public domain and said that none of his creations are for sale.

A photo appeared on the Instagram page, which is considered the official page of Banksy, although he himself does not confirm this. It captures the moment of self-destruction of the famous painting and there is an inscription that translates as "Leaving, leaving … gone." These are the words that usually accompany the procedure for completing the sale of the next lot during the auction.

It should be noted that this is not the first unusual situation that arose at the auction, which is associated with the name of Banksy. Back in 2011, a piece of paper was exhibited on EBay, which, according to the seller, indicated the mysterious artist's real name. The seller himself did not want to disclose his name, but hid under the nickname jaybuysthings and said that he could independently calculate Banksy's real name during the reconciliation of tax records and the sale of works. The winner of the auction was to receive a piece of paper by mail, where only the artist's real name was written and nothing else.

The starting price for such a lot was $ 3,000 and as a result of the auction reached $ 999,999. Then the lot was deleted and the reason for its deletion is unknown. There is a version that this whole auction was arranged by Banksy himself or with the involvement of an accomplice.
