Igor Rud from Novorossiysk devoted himself to an occupation that requires utmost concentration and a firm hand. In his "Art Studio" you can admire the graceful, finely worked samples of wood carving, metal carving and, which is especially unique, on the shell from bird eggs.
According to the artist himself, he manages to find and emphasize the "weak and strong sides" of the material with which he has to work - be it a goose egg or an object of antique weapons (which Rud is also engaged in carving, as well as restoration). For many years, according to his own words, Rud dreamed of devoting himself to an unusual hobby, and only a few years ago he came to grips with the realization of his plans.
The artist claims that his path is "a difficult art form that requires extraordinary concentration and attention." But the result is worth it: the filigree works of the Novorossiysk master are popular with viewers and buyers. Amazing, fragile, almost weightless crafts made of goose and ostrich shells are the main feature of the Art Studio collection. Eggshell mini-sculptures are combined into thematic cycles: for example, among the "ostrich" works you can find Easter, Orthodox, starry, floral themes. Patterned pendants from the same shells stand apart.
The Novorossiysk master has many like-minded people: among the creators of shell sculptures they are very popular Brian Baity and Gary LeMaster … Igor Rud himself maintains contacts with foreign colleagues, but he stands alone among the local "carvers": not many are capable of such painstaking and risky work, which the Novorossiysk artist undertakes.
