Paul Smith was born September 21, 1921 in Philadelphia. Unfortunately, such a serious ailment as cerebral palsy (cerebral palsy) deprived him of many ordinary things: for example, Paul could not even go to school, but the disease did not prevent him from living a bright and wonderful life. Paul was engaged in self-education, and his passion was two things - creativity and playing chess.

If everything is clear with chess, because the main thing here is a clear and solid mind, then with creativity it was much more difficult. We do not know how Paul came up with the idea to print his paintings on a typewriter, but we do know what difficulties he had to overcome to realize this idea. The artist typed with his right hand and held it tightly with his left, creating a kind of support. Since this made it impossible to type in two hands and press two keys at the same time, Paul came up with the idea of blocking the shift key and using only symbols for work.
