Residents of any city, even the most beautiful city in the world, would probably like their living space to be even more colorful and unusual. But someone is waiting for such changes themselves to come to his street, and someone takes the process into their own hands, as the residents of Beirut did on the initiative of a creative association. Dihzahyners.
On the site Culturology. RF We have already talked about the slums (favelas) of the Brazilian city of São Paulo, which, thanks to the efforts of the Spanish artists from the Boa Mistura association, have turned into colorful places, a real decoration of the metropolis in which they are located.
Beirut is certainly not the poorest regions in Brazil. This is a modern city, a real gem of the Middle East. But he would not have been hurt by such a modernization of the appearance. It was taken up by the members of the Dihzahyners art group and the residents of the Lebanese capital themselves.
The Dihzahyners art association invited all interested residents of Beirut to participate in an action called Paint up !, the essence of which was to paint several city stairs in bright colors.
The first of them, consisting of 73 steps, is located in the Mar Michael region of Beirut. It took Dihzahyners and a group of volunteers about seven hours and several dozen liters of paint to transform it into an art object.
During this time, the steps received a bright geometric pattern, turning from a gray, nondescript design into one of the adornments of the Mar Michael district and the whole of Beirut.
Armed with the success of the first Paint up !, creative association Dihzahyners decided not to stop there. Indeed, in Beirut there are still a huge number of other, untouched staircases and a large number of people who are ready to spend their time and energy on making their hometown brighter and more colorful. Here it is - the real meaning of Subbotniks!
