Young artist Tara Dugans reflects on the fact that in the modern world people no longer wear clothes, but are often a free app to it. In black and white and color illustrations, we see characters defeated and enslaved by things, simply lost in them. In various drawings, people either almost drowned in meters of fabric and barely stay afloat, then completely lost their own face.
25-year-old artist Tara Dougans moved from Canada to the UK a year ago. She now lives and works in London. The young artist draws with pencils and gouache. She herself defines her style as rich in details and says that she paints scrupulously, but this does not mean that her work should be taken too seriously.
The first drawings of the artist appeared due to the desire to fill the empty space. Here is how it was. A couple of years ago, Tara Dugans spent six months in Amsterdam, where she studied at the local fashion institute. Her dorm room was pretty dull, and one day a student decided to revive it. Various pencil drawings appeared on the white walls, which came in handy there (of course, according to Tara Dugans; what the commandant said, history is silent). By the end of the training, the walls of the room were already decorated with 15 images.
The process of working on the next color illustration is as follows. Tara Dougans usually gets down to business late at night. There is a long-awaited silence outside the window, so that you can finally concentrate. The darkness encourages the artist, because the sooner the drawing is completed, the sooner it will be possible to go to bed.
The artist does not like to leave an unfinished illustration for later, believing that it is necessary to finish the drawing in one sitting, when the right mood is caught. And if the work drags on, and it starts to dawn slowly outside the window, this is also a great stimulation.
Although all drawings are different, according to Tara Dugans, you should always start with a human face. Eyes, nose, mouth, hair, body - once worked out, an algorithm is repeated every time. First, all the details are drawn with a pencil, and then paints are added if necessary.
When the work reaches a dead end and gets stuck there, Tara Dugans arranges "Polovtsian dances". In order not to bring the situation to this, the artist reads historical works, examines old wallpaper, goes to natural history museums and observes people who look strange and stand out in every possible way in the crowd. All this is great for luring the muse.

They are greeted by clothes, seen off by clothes. Colorful sculpture installations
Once we wrote about how skillfully creative people are able to use available materials to create their imperishable works. For example, using clothes, because not a single person living in modern society can do without it, which means that every second wardrobe is full of things to the eyeballs. So, the artist Thomas Voorn creates graffiti from clothes, and the Cuban creators Alain Guerra and Neraldo de la Paz's - colorful sculptural installations
