Marieke van der Bruggen's installation Garden of delight is really interesting and unusual. Unusual in that it is edible. It can not only be viewed, but also tasted, appreciating not only its beauty, but also its taste.
This vibrant miracle installation consists of suspended branches and leaves created from colored glucose. In other words, they are just candy. Here is such a yummy. Visitors who come to see the installation are allowed to break off pieces of twigs and taste them. I wonder if everyone tries on a twig, or a leaf, what will then be left of this sweet-glucose multi-colored tree?
Getting into the "Garden of Delight" you find yourself in paradise, where you are surrounded by the extraordinary beauty of wonderful sweet trees. Sugar twigs hang from the ceiling and just ask for your mouth, you just have to choose what to bite off and what color.
The installation "The Garden of Pleasure" by Marieke van der Bruggen is presented at the Jewels and Joules show, organized in Milan by the two companies Design Connection Brainport and Design Academy.
