Dutch artist Levi van Veluw is known worldwide for using his head as a material to create unique art objects. His new project of self-portraits called "Light" (Light), released in 2009, again shook with its originality and creative scope.

In the new Light series of self-portraits, the young talent has covered his face and head with foil strips that generate light and turn bright blue in the dark. The luminous object was photographed in absolute darkness. Under the bright blue glow, the outer outlines of Levi van Veluwe's face are hidden, only the shape remains, which can be seen when the foil ribbons glow. The light took shape. In this creative process, the artist's head is viewed as a separate art object.

Levi van Veluw's work is a series of self-portraits, created and photographed by himself: the creative process of one person. He changes his face, treating him like an object. The resulting creation is not a portrait, but a painting that carries information about light, texture, form and content. The image contains a story about a short creative process and about an artist who is either the subject or the object of creativity.
