Ernest Hemingway - not only a cult American writer, but also a person who, back in the twentieth century. became a living legend and a role model in demeanor, dress, appearance. Part of it has recently been digitized personal archiveheld at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library in Boston. This collection is a real treasure for Hemingway fans, because it contains not only rare photographs, but also letters, receipts, fishing magazines, books and other documents.
Hemingway is a Nobel and Pulitzer Prize laureate, a controversial figure in the world of literature and journalism, a hedonist by conviction and a burner in the opinion of others. Interest in his person has not waned over the years. Therefore, the appearance on the network of digitized photos from the writer's old albums in the first minutes riveted the attention of thousands of users.
What makes life meaningful and fulfilling? For the American prose writer, it was courage. Hemingway knew how to enjoy life and give himself entirely to his passions. And he had several of them: hunting for big game, fishing, drinking and bullfighting.
Hemingway proved by his personal example that a feather can be no less accurate weapon than a gun. After all, he was awarded a bronze star for bravery during the Second World War, as a war correspondent. For some time he even pretended to be a colonel in order to lead a French detachment and fight against the Nazis.
Ernest Hemingway survived so many illnesses and injuries that they would have been enough for five: anthrax, malaria, pneumonia, dysentery, hepatitis, anemia, diabetes, hypertension, injuries after two plane crashes (rupture of the kidney, spleen, liver, fractured vertebra, fracture of the base of the skull), mortar shrapnel wounds, post-war neuroses, injuries after three car accidents.
After all these hardships, he survived, but in 1961 he passed away of his own free will, having shot himself with a shotgun. This became a tragedy for his many fans and relatives, because suicide became a real epidemic for his family: his sister, brother and father also committed suicide. Hemingway shot himself with a Vincenzo Bernardelli rifle. Now this model of the double-barreled shotgun is called Hemingway.
The American writer had many passions: for example, Ernest Hemingway's favorite drinks still popular in Cuban bars
