One of the members of the Russian council, which is responsible for the country's art and culture, made a proposal to make 2020 the Year of Folk Art. The head of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, fully supported this initiative, saying that this proposal is a good idea.
It is worth talking about the proposal to engage in the development of rural clubs in different parts of the big country. The head of state took this topic seriously. He noted that today there is a difficult situation with clubs and cinemas in villages, as they simply began to close. In his opinion, it is best not to bring them to close and try to do everything so that such establishments can continue their work. If it is too late to talk about maintenance, since the club has already closed, then it is necessary to plan restoration work and in no way leave everything as it is.
Elena Islamuratova, who is the head of the District House of Folk Art, and also heads the Association of Folk Art Houses in the Ural Federal District, provided statistical data. According to them, over 40 thousand clubs operate on the territory of the country, and most of them are in villages - 37 thousand. Approximately 3.5 million creative teams work within these clubs.
During the conversation, during which the main topic still remained the preservation of the cultural heritage of all peoples living on the territory of the Russian Federation, the head of the country decided to recall the times of the Soviet Union. Many criticize the regime of that time, as they consider it to be totalitarian. But even then, funds were allocated for the publication of books in different languages, for the printing of such newspapers and the creation of various programs.
In modern conditions, everything is tied to money, commercialized, which has had a negative impact on cultural life and much has to be restored, not supported.
It is worth remembering that earlier Vladimir Tolstoy, who holds the position of the adviser to the President of Russia on cultural issues, talked about plans for the future. Then they talked about the possibility of holding a year of intangible heritage and folk art. At the same time, attempts were made to connect such a topic to the Year of the Theater, but this idea did not receive support, since it was decided to set aside a separate year for the intangible heritage.
