The news media told about Valentin Uryupin, chief conductor and artistic director of the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Rostov State Philharmonic Society. More precisely, they drew attention to the fact that he decided to spend part of his cash prize on the purchase of new instruments for the orchestra. This is a presidential prize awarded to young artists, which was received by Uryupin for his significant contribution to the development of Russian musical art.
The award ceremony took place on March 25. The amount of this premium is 2.5 million rubles. This award has been presented every year since 2011. Uryupin began to lead the orchestra since 2015. He began to actively develop concert programs designed for children, hold art festivals that should attract young people, and organize tours to other countries. For example, last 2018 Uryupin managed to organize a concert in Austria, the venue of which was one of the largest European halls.
The artistic director and conductor himself said that he intends to use most of his prize for the purchase of instruments. He was not able to tell exactly which tools will be purchased, since it has not yet been determined which of them need to be replaced as soon as possible. He also drew attention to the fact that the amount of 2 million rubles is not enough to update most of the instruments in the orchestra, so he also counts on outside support.
While talking with reporters, he talked a little about his plans. These plans include a performance-performance. He drew attention to the fact that in the past 2018, within the framework of the festival called "The Bridge", a similar event had already been held. It was received ambiguously, but this is precisely the main goal of the performance. The main activity is touring and holding a symphony season at the Philharmonic. At the same time, in addition for 2020-2021. it is planned to hold performance events in different locations. In Uryupin's opinion, such activity of the orchestra is very important, he needs to take part in the cultural life of the city.
At the moment, the orchestra, together with the conductor, are actively involved in the development of programs for young people and children, which are various festivals, “children's weekend”, concerts and “fairy tales with an orchestra”.
