The kid found freedom: after two years in a cage, the orangutan finally got a chance for a new life

In early May 2017, little Kotap finally found freedom. This orangutan is only 4 years old, he is still a child, but life has spoiled him a little. He has spent the past two years in a cramped wooden box with only straw and a crumpled plastic bottle at his disposal. The fact that life can look completely different, Kotap seems to have completely forgotten, and therefore, when the rescuers pulled him out, the baby was very scared.

The roughly knitted box in which Kotap lived was less than one square meter inside. The orangutan had nothing to do in it, he did not communicate with anyone, did not know the world and saw little except these boards and his master, who sometimes came to feed him.

The owner, a man named Bako, swears that he got this animal from strangers he met in one of the neighboring towns in Borneo. He just saw a tiny orangutan sitting in an ordinary box and agreed to look after him. However, he soon decided that the baby might bother his neighbors a lot, and so he built a box of wood for him, which he put on the street next to his house.

The owner fed Kotapa the same food he ate himself, including bread and rice. Talking about his pet, he said that the orangutan most of all likes raw instant noodles and sugary drinks.

When people from an organization for the protection of animals first came to Bako, they could not persuade him to give Kotapa. They had no right to act by force, but the defenders decided later to try again to persuade him. Bako simply did not understand that the animal was suffering, it seemed to him that if he was alive, he had food and he was under protection, then Kotap was happy. After lengthy conversations, the owner of the orangutan finally agreed to give it up, and all the villagers came to see the action.

When the rescuers opened the box, the vet came first. She reached out her hand inward, but Kotap was too intimidated and fled to a far corner. After two years in silence and darkness, everything new frightened him greatly. ""

One of the orangutans that Kotap will meet will be Amy - she was rescued a month and a half ago from very cruel owners, after which she was forced to undergo treatment and also get used to the fact that the world is much more than a locked cage, and that not all people are bad.
