They were insanely popular during the Soviet era. No matter how they tried to drive them into the framework of generally accepted music, they did not fit, broke all barriers and constantly expressed their protest against the system. But the families of Soviet rock stars were registered in compliance with all traditions.
Viktor Tsoi and Marianna Rodovanskaya
They met in 1982 at a birthday party with one of their mutual friends. Marianne was slightly shocked by his self-confidence, which was completely atypical for a 19-year-old boy. But she did not even think of giving in to him, she drew her phone number with lipstick. And he called. They met for three whole years. Choi was sincerely worried about their four-year age difference and the completely unthinkable difference in income. But nothing bothered Marianne. She loved him.
They signed three years after they met. There was simply no money for a decent wedding with all the necessary attributes. She put on a light skirt and a white jacket, Choi was dressed in a suit with a tie. Six months after the wedding, in August 1985, the couple had a son. The newlyweds lived extremely poorly. They went to the Crimea to rest as hares. When they were caught by the controllers, then Tsoi had to work out the passage with his songs. And he sang all the way, all the way to the Crimea, and after that he could not speak at all.
They were happy together for only a few years, until Viktor Tsoi was overtaken by a new love. True, the spouses never formalized the divorce, and the musician always told his first wife that they remain a family, since they have a son.
Vyacheslav and Marina Butusovy
They met in the first year of the institute on working off on a collective farm and sympathized with each other at first sight. True, Butusov decided to speak with Marina only after the debut of the freshmen. He volunteered to accompany her, they walked from one end of Sverdlovsk to the other and were silent. Even their declaration of love was non-standard. He asked, "Do you think I just like you or I love you?"
After that she introduced him to his parents, but Vyacheslav's mother did not like Vyacheslav right away. The tragedy that happened in the family helped to change the opinion about the future son-in-law. Marina's father was severely beaten, Vyacheslav supported his beloved and her mother with all his might. And after the funeral, it suddenly turned out that they themselves would soon become parents.
Vyacheslav's parents lived in Surgut and took their future daughter-in-law immediately. And they arranged a gorgeous wedding for the young. They felt good together exactly as long as he did not come home only on short visits, actually living in St. Petersburg. There he met his new love. But with his daughter, born in the summer of 1980, he never interrupted communication.
Vladimir and Elena Shakhrins
Vladimir Shakhrin has always been aware of his responsibility to his family. And he felt guilty before his wife for the fact that there were many partings in their life. She did not marry a musician, but a simple builder, and after that she had to get used to the constant absence of her husband at home. But, on the other hand, partings and subsequent meetings made their family life brighter and richer.
Joanne Stingray and Yuri Kasparyan
Their wedding was truly iconic. Joanne was the window of Soviet rock to America, and her wedding to the guitarist of "Kino" was funny and noisy. She did not understand a word of what the registrar was saying at the registry office, she just tried not to miss the moment when it was necessary to say "yes" in Russian.
However, their marriage did not last long, soon she was already getting married again, only now for Alexander Vasiliev from the "Center" group.
Mike Naumenko and Natasha Korableva
All of Leningrad knew Mike Naumenko, rock lovers idolized the talented musician. Natasha met Mike thanks to her cousin. At his own wedding, they began to show sympathy for each other.
But it was Natasha who took the initiative in continuing the acquaintance. It was she, having learned that Mike had a David Bowie record, insisted on listening to it immediately. Mike Naumenko himself turned out to be extremely shy and quivering.
Boris Grebenshchikov and Natalia Kozlovskaya
This was BG's first marriage. They got married, barely graduating from college in 1976. Celebrated with the full breadth of the generous Russian soul, throwing a gorgeous banquet at the Astoria. St. Petersburg musicians and even Andrei Makarevich, who had specially arrived from Moscow, congratulated the young with the "Time Machine". The marriage broke up two years later.
Of particular interest today are rare photographs of Soviet celebrities during feasts.
