Anyone who has ever seen the show of the legendary Cirque du Soleil has surely paid attention to the costumes of the artists - in terms of beauty, thoughtfulness and thoroughness of execution, this is a real work of art, comparable to high fashion items. However, a circus costume must not only be beautiful, it must meet the technical requirements dictated by the complexity and perfection of acrobatic performances. The combination of these two seemingly opposite tasks - beauty and functionality - gives rise to the desire of masters to push the boundaries of the possible and introduce new ideas and solutions in a circus costume.
The Dream Creators exhibition not only tells about where artists seek inspiration for their work and the technical secrets of their craftsmanship, but also reveals the mystery behind the creation of the Performance. After all, when a costume designer, a craftsman and an artist meet, they create and invent together, helping each other to reveal this or that character. Their creative union, based on passion, dedication and involvement, creates the magic that we, the audience, then see on stage.
In addition to the Cirque du Soleil costumes themselves, everyone who comes to the exhibition can see and ride on the unique Fairy RICH carousel, which was presented by the regular partner of the circus RICH juice. On the moving attraction, full-length figures of circus artists from the Varekai show, which came to Moscow in 2009, are installed., as well as figures from the new Saltimbanco show, which is eagerly awaited in Moscow this fall. The installation dedicated to Cirque du Soleil is the embodiment of the RICH juice motto "Life is a good thing, whatever one may say". For this attraction, a special mechanism was developed that sets the entire structure in motion.
On the opening day of the exhibition, the stars of cinema, theater and the world of fashion have already rolled and photographed at the Fairy Carousel: designer Masha Tsigal, actress and choreographer Alla Sigalova, photographer Vladimir Shirokov, director Kirill Serebrennikov, actress and director Ekaterina Dvigubskaya, journalist Peter Fadeev with his wife, producer and decorator Pavel Kaplevich, TV presenter Anton Zorkin, designer Max Chernitsov and development director of Bosco di Ciliegi Konstantin Andrikopoulos.
The Dream Makers exhibition also tells the story of Cirque du Soleil, with the costume of Gilles Sainte-Croix, one of the founders of the Circus, in which he walked on stilts in 1984 from the small town of Bé-Saint-Paul to Quebec to draw attention to your project. The costume designed by Thierry Mugler for the stationary show Zumanity is also on display. The exhibition features costumes from the legendary shows Varekai, Corteo and Saltimbanco.
