On April 19, in the Russian capital, the premiere screening of a performance titled "Toruk - First Flight" by Cirque du Soleil took place. The show, which received this name, was based on the movie "Avatar", directed by James Cameron. The main characters of this story are two young men who have to go on a journey, because only in this way they can save their own world from destruction. During these travels, they wish to find Tork, a red-orange predator who can help them save the world.

In his show, Cirque du Soleil decided to show the events that took place on Pandora many years before the events that are told in Cameron's film. At that time, there were no people on Pandora, and therefore all circus artists play in this show representatives of the Navi people, who are divided into five clans. Janie Mallet, a press secretary for the circus show, spoke about this with reporters.

Artists have to spend a lot of time preparing for their next performance. Each of them has to independently apply makeup, which takes about one hour. Representatives of the planet Pandora are very tall creatures, whose height is 2-3 meters. To achieve such an effect on stage, artists of the famous circus use special costumes with a pattern that visually significantly increases growth.

These suits also have a lot of wires. This is necessary so that a special tracking system can easily communicate with them. Such a system easily identifies the position of a particular artist at any time of performance. It is needed so that the movements of the performers of certain roles are fully compared with complex projections.

The representative of the circus, during his conversation with reporters, said that while preparing this performance based on the film "Avatar", they actively communicated with James Cameron. They gained access to numerous materials. Some of the creations were used from the film, others were specially created to participate in the circus performance du Soleil.

The main character of the show is Toruk. This is a puppet doll, which is controlled by six specialists. The doll weighs 115 kilograms, the wingspan of this character is 15 meters. In Moscow, this show will be shown at Luzhniki until May 5. Then the circus will move to St. Petersburg, where it will work on May 8-12 at the Ice Palace.
