The Russian premiere of a choreographic performance about Nobunaga, a Japanese samurai, will take place in St. Petersburg. Yasumasa Iijima, Japanese Consul General, made a speech at a press conference and said that this performance is part of the program, drawn up specifically for the Russian-Japanese Year of Culture. This cross-year of cultures of Russia and Japan will last until the end of June.

The play "Samurai Nobunaga" will be shown in St. Petersburg with the support of the Japanese government.

The cultural Russian capital was chosen to host the premiere of this performance. In the future, it is also planned to be shown in Moscow and Ulan-Ude. The Consul General of Japan also spoke about this.

To show the performance about the Japanese samurai, they decided to choose the V. F. Komissarzhevskaya. On the stage of this theater, the performance will be shown on January 15, and then the next day on January 16. World famous ballet stars will take part in the show. These include Morihiro Iwata - ballet dancer from Japan, Farukh Ruzimatov - choreographer and dancer, recognized People's Artist of the Russian Federation, Ranko Fujima - an actor of the world-famous Kabuki theater.

Fujima is one of the authors of the premiere production. During his communication with journalists, he focused on the fact that the job was not easy. The authors first of all wanted to fully preserve and show the guests the beauty of traditional ancient dance. At the same time, it was already necessary to impose directorial and choreographic ideas on this dance. Thanks to the painstaking work of the masters, the audience who came to the show will be able to see the classical Japanese dance, which has been somewhat updated.

The play, called "Samurai Nobunaga", tells about the events that take place in the 16th century, when the provinces of Japan were at war with each other. Oda Nobunaga is not just a samurai, he is a Japanese national hero who began to unite the province into one large and strong country, devoting his whole life to achieving this goal. The role of the protagonist of the whole story will be played by Ruzimatov.

Morihiro Iwata considers the show of the play "Samurai Nobunaga" to be an ideal option, and all because this production does not represent Japanese traditional dances in its purest form, it cannot be called a classical ballet either. This production is a choreographic performance in which elements of two cultures are intertwined, which is symbolic for the year of Russian-Japanese culture.
