In 1910, Englishman Robert Scott led the British Antarctic Expedition. They had to make many scientific discoveries. True, when they reached the Pole, they were deeply disappointed - they were ahead of the Norwegians. Two members of the expedition died almost at its beginning, and Scott himself and two of his comrades froze to death in a tent on March 19, 1912.
