What do a denture, cigarettes and candles have in common? What's the connection between comb and oranges? If such a state as "color mood" is familiar to you firsthand, you will immediately understand what is the meaning of a series of simple but nevertheless attractive still lifes from the American photo artist Athena Melton … So, Athena Melton boldly and without the slightest hesitation forms compositions from a lighter, onions and grapes, a globe, a vase and ice cream, places in one frame such objects that could be nearby by mistake or completely by accident. Photos from her project Monochrome are diametrically opposed to classical still lifes: here the objects in the frame are not connected by a common theme, the focus is only on their color.
The Monochrome series consists of ten photographs of multi-colored still lifes, each with its own mood and meaning. Simple yet original, Athena Melton's still lifes are eye-catching and inspiring. If not for creativity, then for cleaning the apartment definitely. The entire series of color photographs of the photographer can be found on her website.
